Welcome to the Tricade, a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind retro gaming console built by Mod N' Mend. Designed with a stunning Zelda-inspired aesthetic—featuring classic blue, silver, red, and gold accents alongside a custom pixel-art logo—this premium desktop cabinet is powered by the top-of-the-line Raspberry Pi 5 (8GB) to deliver flawless retro gameplay.

The console enclosure is custom 3D-printed using durable PLA plastic. Every component has been meticulously assembled, wired, and coded to provide a seamless, plug-and-play arcade experience.

Key Features:

  • Dual-Display Ready: The system is wired with a custom micro-HDMI to HDMI routing system. Play directly on the built-in screen, or plug a TV into the convenient female HDMI port on the back to instantly mirror your gameplay to the big screen.

  • Authentic GameCube Control: Includes an original, OEM Nintendo GameCube controller that has been custom-modified with an 8BitDo upgrade kit, allowing it to connect to the console seamlessly via Bluetooth for a perfect, wire-free retro feel.

  • Smart Hardware Controls: Features a custom-wired arcade button that handles your power and menus—a short press safely exits your current game, a long press executes a clean system shutdown, and pressing it while the machine is off boots it back up.

  • Optimized OS: Runs on a highly customized build of Batocera Linux, featuring automated scripts that handle display mirroring, screen rotation, and audio routing completely hands-free.

Important Terms & Conditions:

  • Local Pickup Only: Due to the custom, one-of-a-kind nature of this build, shipping is not available. Pickup must be arranged locally in the Salt Lake City / Murray area.

  • Bring Your Own Games (No ROMs): The Tricade supports a massive library of classic emulation formats. However, for legal reasons, this system is sold as a hardware emulation platform only and does not include any copyrighted game files (ROMs).

  • Limited Warranty: This console comes with a limited warranty covering the internal wiring and original software configuration at the time of sale. Mod N' Mend is not responsible for physical damage caused by the user, accidental breakage, or software corruption resulting from unauthorized modifications or improper shutdowns.

What started as a passion for building high-performance PC gaming rigs and custom Raspberry Pi arcade machines quickly evolved into a full-scale pursuit of better, more private technology. I believe that whether you are gaming, working from home, or setting up a secure network, you should actually own and control your hardware.

Based right here in Salt Lake City, I created Mod N' Mend to bridge the gap between digital IT support and physical hardware fabrication. I am currently pursuing my CompTIA A+ certification to ensure my networking, troubleshooting, and repair services meet the highest professional industry standards.

When I'm not running diagnostics or deploying secure, open-source home routers, I'm usually running my 3D printers. I specialize in rapid prototyping, custom tech enclosures, and high-quality tabletop gaming accessories.
